| As you are ordering please remember we are dealing with wood. The endless variety in color
and grain is what gives wood character and natural appearance. No two trees are the same; therefore, differences even occur within the same species. Location of
a tree, climate, rainfall, sunlight, and minerals in the soil all design the grain and color patterns.
Below is a description of North Country Door, Inc. lumber grade guideline when ordering.
Grade specifications apply only to face side of our products.
|
Premium Grade
NCD's "premium" grade is available in most wood species. Premium grade lumber is hand picked to be matched to obtain a look that is as near perfect as mother
nature will allow. There is a 50% upcharge to the wood charges and we would recommend our standard grade in most all applications.
|
Standard Grade
NCD's "standard" grade wood is a color matched face with minimum sap pockets. The back is unmatched. Standard grade material allows for many of the
natural characteristics of the wood to be present in the product while limiting or eliminating the most objectionable. This is the same product door
that we have always provided for those high-end kitchens.
|
Value Grade
NCD's "value" grade is random glued up boards, no color matching and no sticker stain. This material is an alternative price for products with medium
and darker finishes. This grade offers 10% off NCD’s standard grade lumber prices.
|
Paint Grade
NCD's "paint" grade is random glued up boards. NCD uses birch, soft maple, or cherry. Color will vary from dark heartwood to very light sapwood and will
have sticker stain. This grade is intended for painting only.
